The Internship

<< Back

Our Internship is for college students with a passion for social justice grounded in the love of God, people, and self. During the internship we offer professional experience in an international organization where the interns are empowered and given freedom to create within their position while taking ownership of the main operations of TAPP USA.

Our hope is for the interns to grow holistically and be empowered to become persons who will affect social change. We require that before the interns start they finish a reading list that will educate them on the medical, social, and theological factors surrounding the AIDS pandemic. They also read different perspectives on holistic transformational development that are more enriching to the African culture than damaging. All of this should contribute to the way they think through their work as an intern with TAPP: Ubuntu Project

The Uganda Immersion

As TAPP is very community oriented, we feel it is a must for our interns to spend time on the grounds with the people they are working for in SSA (Sub-Saharan Africa). At the close of the first semester of classes, the Internship team along with TAPP: Ubuntu Project leadership travel to Uganda for a 2-week intensive immersion. They spend time traveling to the different TAPP branches in Uganda, survey TAPP operations in Africa, and build relationships with the TAPP members. We hope that this will be the first of many trips as our goal is to see lasting investment in this international community.

Interns work part-time as they are also busy with their classes and social lives. We value a balanced work load that includes hard work while respecting emotional wellness that needs rest and time with friends.
