There is a new kind of party to be apart of…..a Rafiki Party! Rafiki Parties are great as get-togethers for friends, families, co-workers, small groups, church groups, Sunday school classes, and people who are just looking to have a good time while looking at the world with a new perspective.
Rafiki is a Swahili word that means “friend“. It symbolizes a concept that is the driving force behind what we do at TAPP USA and with TAPP Uganda. Our mission is centered on relationships instead of profit. Rafiki Parties can be a practical way to foster new life in communities by spending time together in the personal settings of our homes with friends that we know and love!
The guidelines for hosting a Rafiki Party are simple…
- Set a date and invite a group to your home.
- If you feel adventurous, we have African recipes that can be a great way to open up the party with shared discussion over shared food!
- Watch the TAPP Film (Approximately 7 Minutes)
- Let our printed resources allow for intentional but natural discussion to form around the issues of HIV/AIDS, the Undersides, and Creation Care. How are they all connected? How can you continue to learn, dialogue, and act?
- Let everyone sign up for our e-newsletter and Ubuntu:The TAPP Network!!
- Experience the beautiful hand-crafted artwork of the TAPP memebers. Keep track of all sales!
- Take digital photo and send it to us in the TAPP USA office, along with a reflection of the party, so that we too can share in your experience!
